Medical update from Paul

We are really grateful to you all for praying and interceding on our behalf. On Monday, 27th Aug, we requested specific prayer items and I would like to share what happened to those requests.

Li Leng was protected against infection and she did not have nausea nor diarrhea after the Velcade injections on 27th and 30th.

She is able to consume some food but her body is still very weak and she cannot walk like she did before the 21st. She feels breathless on any activity and this has really discouraged her and taken the wind from her sails.

The tight muscles around her back and abdomen waxes and wanes. It is worse during the treatment weeks and more tolerable during the rest week.

She was able to sleep most nights waking up once or twice for the toilet except on 1st Sep due to severe bloatedness in the abdomen.

The M-Band taken on the 27th just came out this morning. It was 10.4 on the 6th Aug and it is now 5.

Psalm 143:1,8,11

O LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy, in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
For your name’s sake, O LORD, preserve my life, in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

Indeed, like David, we can thank the LORD for the M-Band result this morning.

Please pray along with us with thanksgiving in our hearts for:

Strength to return so that Li Leng can walk without feeling breathless.
The numbness in her fingers to go away – she is experiencing some peripheral neuropathy as a result of the therapy. She is also feeling numb around her tongue and throat and this make swallowing difficult.
Her organs to be protected – heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, digestive and urinary systems.
Her soul to be restored – Ps 23:3.
