Bloodtest results 2007 -2010

This is an overview of the bloodtest and bone marrow aspirate results since diagnosis May 2007 with brief description of treatment with targetted drugs, no harvest of stem cells nor SCT done. (sorry, a bit technical for non-mm readers, but helpful for mm-ers).

First M-band 20.7 was taken after 3 weeks of treatment therefore pre-treatment reading was not available, it could be in region of 31 or 32g/L, deduced from IgG which is a composition of good and bad monoclonal proteins.

Commenced induction treatment for MM with Dexa, Thalidomid/Revlimid, Zometa, Velcade.

Vertebroplasty to T6 and T9 Jun 2007.

Mild wedge compression fractures on T6, T7, T9, T11, mild disc degeneration C6/7, hyperintensity at C2 and T11.

Radiotherapy to spinal and cervical columns Dec 2007.

Re-commenced treatment for MM with Velcade 6 cycles Aug 2008.

Commenced treatment for MDS with Vidaza 5-Azacytidine 5 cycles May 2009.

Re-commenced treatment for MM with Revlimid, Dexa, Zometa Sep 2010.

Diagnosis Apr 2008 - MM not in remission, likely VGPR, very good partial response. Myelodysplastic Syndrome MDS - IPSS Stage Intermediate-1.

Diagnosis Apr 2009 - MM at VGPR, MDS - IPSS Intermediate-1 del(7), there is obvious interval improvement, however there is significant plasma cell aggregates.

Diagnosis Apr 2010 - MM at VGPR, MDS - Unclassified, there is significant interval improvement, clearance of plasma cell aggregates, no del(7).

Bone Mineral Density showed improvement over 2007 and 2008.
