That is the title of the meditation in “Our Daily Bread” today. Reflecting on the words of Ps 24 can help us to take a “Selah moment” to pause and worship God. Among other possible meanings, “Selah” includes a moment to “Exalt” the name of God for answered prayer in spite of disappointment (Ps 40:1-3).
“I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.”
Today is a “Selah moment” for me. Although my back aches and I tire easily, the LORD gave me the strength to rejoin my brothers and sisters in Christ to worship and have Holy Communion at BKC. I had prayed and continue to pray that the LORD will enable me to attend the Watch Night service and recently Paul has been praying for me to be able to attend the Christmas service too. Last week, with the brief but joyful visit to church after morning service, Paul was emboldened to ask the LORD to make me strong enough to attend this morning’s service and we praise GOD that He did. My sister Lilian and her husband Benno who are visiting from the Netherlands were able to join us in church and have a glimpse of the Body Life at BKC. Some of you have also prayed for Benno and he has certainly recovered well from his operation by the grace of GOD.
Indeed, GOD is good and He is worthy of all our praise and worship.
